Documents required for registering a pleasure craft
All French pleasure craft sailing at sea must be registered.
Before registering the vessel, the boater must verify that they are in compliance with the requirements for registration under the French flag.
The registration application is made by the purchaser of the boat.
Registration consists of assigning an identification number to the vessel.
This number must be displayed inside and outside the vessel.
Any change in circumstances must also be reported.
Recreational boating information sheet to be completed and signed
Copy of the double-sided boat licence
Copy of valid identity document (front and back)
Sea card or boat registration booklet
Deed of sale in two copies signed and dated by both parties
